Going to AA, but I'm not an alcoholic am I?
I am in an alcoholic outpatient rehab program and attending AA nightly as part of that treatment program. The thing is, I don't think I'm an alcoholic, after participating in this program & attending AA. Before this program started, I did drink two to three gles of wine a night, sometimes four and when I "party," I drink about four or five Margaritas, which is about once a month. I have blacked out before a couple of times and made a total fool of myself, but who hasn't? I did drive after those four or five Margaritas, but that was after about four hours. I admit, I've driven drunk a lot in my life, but not for about a year. Yes, I do need alcohol, but now that it has been a week in this program, I've been able to stop. So, really, do I have a problem and should I even be in rehab? My doctor thought so, but I think he is just too overly cautious. Also, I take antidepressants, anti anxiety meds & meds for bipolar. Thank you for your input!
