I tried to hook up my laptop to my flat screen and play the sound off my DJ equipment and power speakers.?

I get the video on the monitor, but the sound only comes out of 1 speaker. I use the headphone outlet on the pc and connect it to the back of the mixer inputs and play it on the auxillary lines. What am I doing wrong?
